Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

It applies to sellers who create an account and use ILikeItSweet to take orders, and to buyers who place an order through a seller's order link. ILikeItSweet is an ordering tool — we are not a payment processor and never hold or move the money for an order between a buyer and seller. Because of that, we do not collect or store card numbers or bank credentials for orders.

2. Information we collect, and why

From sellers, at signup and while you use the service

• Name — to identify your account and the person responsible for it.
• Business name — displayed to buyers on your order link.
• Mobile phone number — to sign you in and verify you by one-time SMS code.
• Email address — for account confirmation, receipts, and service notices.
• Interac e-Transfer address — shown to your buyers so they can pay you directly.
• City — to show buyers your general location and keep listings locally relevant.
• Business type — to set up your listing and understand what you sell.
• Order data — the items, prices, and orders that flow through your link, so we can run the service and count usage toward your plan.
• IP address at signup — to help detect fraud, duplicate accounts, and abuse.

From buyers, when you place an order

• Name — so the seller knows who placed the order.
• Phone number — so the seller can coordinate the order with you.
• Order contents — the items you requested, passed to the seller to fulfil.
• Pickup or delivery preference — so the seller can complete your order the way you want.

3. One-time passcodes (SMS)

We sign sellers in with a one-time passcode sent by SMS through our provider, Twilio. Codes expire in 10 minutes and are used only to confirm it's really you. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

4. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in to your dashboard. It is set with the HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax flags. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or cross-site analytics trackers.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information while your account is active. If your account is cancelled or expires, we retain your account and order data for 90 days — so you can pick up where you left off if you come back — and then it is permanently purged. One-time passcodes expire in 10 minutes and are not retained after that. We may keep limited records longer only where the law requires (for example, tax or accounting obligations) or as needed to resolve a dispute or prevent fraud.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service, with the following processors:

• Twilio — sends the SMS one-time passcodes and account text messages.
• Stripe — processes subscription payments if you upgrade to a paid plan. (Order payments between a buyer and seller are not handled by Stripe — those are direct Interac e-Transfers between the two of you.)
• Hostinger — provides our hosting and email.

We also share information: between a buyer and seller (the seller sees the order details a buyer submits, in order to fulfil it); when required by law or valid legal process; and as part of a business transfer (such as a merger or sale of assets).

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), signed and HttpOnly login sessions, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights under Canadian privacy law

Under PIPEDA and Alberta's PIPA, you may:

• Access — ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
• Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Withdraw consent — ask us to stop using your information and delete it, subject to legal limits.

10. Children

ILikeItSweet is intended for adults (18+) running or buying from a small business. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be communicated to sellers by email or in the dashboard.
